Hafod, a coastal cottage in Trearddur Bay, Anglesey. Easter 2011 Hafod is one of Trearddur Bay's most popular holiday cottages. The cottage's sea views and coastal location are hard to beat, Hafod is situated in a spot designated as "an area of outstanding natural beauty" with views stretching far across the sea. The cottage is built above a little rocky cove, and offers access to Anglesey's coastal path from its garden.
Despite the sea spray reaching the windows in wilder weather, the house - decorated in a bright, informal and cosy style - nestles into the headland on which it is built. Useful to know is that "Hafod" translates as "summer house"!
There is a circular driveway and an extensive garden, 1.5 acres in total. On balmy days, the patio and terrace are perfect for sunbathing and relaxing.
The large, open-plan L-shaped sitting room, dining and kitchen area is a great place for everyone to gather. The bedrooms and bathrooms are at the other end of the house, allowing guests "chill time" when required!
The Sunlounge, with wonderful sea viewsHafod is a spacious house with 7 bedrooms, altogether sleeping up to 12 people. It's ideal for groups of families or friends. Click to see pictures of the bedrooms.
If you can tear yourselves away from the sound of the sea, games in the garden or the crackle of the log fire, Hafod makes a great base from which to explore Trearddur Bay itself and neighbouring Rhosneigr and Rhoscolyn. You can launch yourselves into the abundance of activities available on the island - see Things to Do.
The view from the gardenHafod was the summer home of the author Nicholas Monsarrat and his family - and just as it was their regular holiday retreat, you can make it yours, too. It's a unique combination of location and size.
Trearddur Bay is a popular seaside resort and Hafod is just a short walk from beautiful sandy beaches.
Pet dogs are welcome to stay at Hafod - please let us know when you book that you are bringing your pet. There is an extra charge of £40 per week to cover cleaning.
