Sailing

Anglesey is a yachty's paradise! Sailing is a year-round activity here, with several sailing clubs and plenty of places to launch. The waters off Anglesey give you a whole range of sailing, from sedate cruises to full-on racing. You can launch your boat from public slipways at Traeth Bychan, Beaumaris, Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn, Rhosneigr and Menai Bridge (fees payable and registration required).

The Irish Sea links rather than divides, as the crossing to Dublin is only around 50 miles - so Anglesey welcomes many boats from Ireland during the year.

One of the highlights of the sailing year is Regatta Week at Trearddur Bay. August becomes one long round of racing, with old rivalries fought out stem to stern!
