About Rhoscolyn, Anglesey
Resorts & Retreats offers 2 exceptional holiday cottages in Rhoscolyn: Ty Lon Bach and Mountatin View
Rhoscolyn must be one of Anglesey's best kept secrets'. Located on the west of the island of Anglesey in between its busier and larger neighbours Trearddur Bay and Rhosneigr, it is a hidden gem! Reached by winding country lanes off the Valley to Trearddur Bay road, it is a small hamlet with St Gwenfaen's church, the famous White Eagle pub, a shop - in the form of the excellent Holy Island Sea Food- and the most magnificent sandy beaches: Rhoscolyn and Silver Bay. Rhoscolyn is also accessible from the coastal path that runs around Anglesey, it is a good 30 minute walk along the coast from Treaddur Bay, past the Rhoscolyn beacon and the look out tower. The spectacular views along this walk and those from Rhoscolyn stretch across the sea to the Lleyn peninsula and Snowdonia.
Holiday cottages are relatively few and far between in Rhoscolyn as the majority of houses are homes occupied all year round. It is this that makes Ty Lon Bach, Y Stabl and The Point holiday cottages such finds and for those who prefer luxury timber holiday lodges, the Silver Bay Holiday Village is an alternative option offering not only accomodation but also a purpose built boat park and private access to a launching beach. The White Eagle pub was extensively renovated in 2007 and in both location and as a place to go it really is at the heart of Rhoscolyn life.
For the perfect day out in Rhoscolyn we recommend a trip to Valley butchersfor BBQ supplies, a walk down the single track lane to the beach, a BBQ and some Rhoscolyn beach time followed by an afternoon refresher in the White Eagle. Don't forget to pick up some delicious freshly caught seafood from the Holy Island Sea Food shop to be found off the lane between the pub and beach!
